By: Red Russo The Lincoln-Way Patriots scored 51 points on Saturday 8/22/2009 to beat the Indiana Titans in Mid States Football League Play. The Patriots are a first year Semi-Pro Football Team and have produced seven victories in a row to insure home field advantage throughout the MSFL playoffs.

The Lincoln-Way Patriots Semi-Pro football team has accomplished a lot for a first year team. The Patriots are 6-0 in league play and have locked up slot in the MSFL playoffs. Their goal now is to gain home field advantage in the playoffs and are preparing for their Saturday, August 22nd home game against the Indiana Titans.

The undefeated did battle last weekend

The undefeated did battle last weekend and when the final whistle sounded  The Lincoln-Way Patriots increased their win/loss record to a still undefeated 5-0 in a 14-12 victory against the Mid-State Steel who were also 4-0 at the start of the game and tied with the Patriots for first in their division.
 

The Patriots are now 4-0

The Lincoln-Way Patriots beat the McHenry County Pirates on Saturday night at Lincoln-Way East High School by a score of 33 - 28 . The victory improves the Patriots league record to 4 - 0 in the Mid States Football League .

 

Both teams featured potent offenses . The Pirates featured a QB who worked from the shot gun formation and threw very effectively . He picked up 3 TD's in the first half passing from the shot gun .He added another midway through the 3rd quarter ,

 

The Patriots scored via the pass and the run . QB Mike Strimel completed 2 passes for TD's in the first half . Tail back Steve Strimel established a new league rushing record with 31 carries for 312 yards and 3 touchdowns .

 

The McHenry County Pirates led at half time by a score of 21 - 13 .The Patriots came back with 3 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter while the Pirates only scored once in the 2nd half .

 

The next game will be Saturday, August 8th at Lincoln-Way East High School at 7:00 pm

The Patriots will host the Mid State Steel (Peoria area) in another exciting Mid States Football League game .
